TIME Person of the Year 2009 - Ben Bernanke WHAT THE $%^&*?

So TIME magazine names Ben Bernanke as Person of the Year 2009. Good article and they credit Mr Bernanke, the Federal Reserve chairman, for averting an even bigger economic disaster or to quote them - "weak economy that could have been much, much weaker".

Hmmmm.. While nobody can question Ben Bernanke's impeccable record as an economist both in academia and government, I strongly disagree with TIME's reasons - "weak economy that could have been much, much weaker". That's like coming home form school with a C+ and telling your parents "Look, I could have done a lot worse, like a D- or even an F" and your parents smiling with delight and doubling your allowance. What's wrong with this picture??

Well I guess that's the new way of looking at things these days. Just like when unemployment rate was skyrocketing and President Obama was saying look, it could have been worse and was claiming to have "saved" some other jobs (with no way to verify the validity of the statement).

Next time I get pulled over by a cop for talking on the cell phone I will ask him to be lenient and recognize that I also could have ran a red light - but didn't.
